Superbowl Tailgating

Superbowl Countdown

The superbowl is set and we couldn't be more excited. (hopefully) Sunny Miami and two teams with opposite strengths that should make the game interesting. We are kind of surprised on the lack of tailgating information given out by the Miami planning committee. The company in charge of parking explicitly states that no tailgating is allowed around the stadium. Ridiculous! We will be down there, and I'm sure that we'll find some enthusiastic fans from both camps. We'll keep you posted on the experience.

Ohio State Tailgating

We had so much tailgating with the good folks in Columbus for the Ohio State Michigan game. People were everywhere and we received a fantastic response. So much so, that we weren't able to make it around to everyone. The energy was high throughout the day and it was absolutely crazy at times. The pictures speak for themselves. How can you not love a crew of people dresses as pilgrims, and pocahontas providing enough energy for an entire parking lot. I especially love the video below which tells the story of how the ODMV granted the license plate MI BLOZ.PT

University of Tennessee Setting Standards

Just wanted to send a special thanks to Josh Cameron over in Knoxville, for sending in another stellar "The Heralding of Tailgating" edition. We chronicled the University of Tennessee on one of our earlier visits and we loved the enthusiasm of Josh and the rest of his crew as well as his newsletter that has mad him a small celebrity. "The Heralding of Tailgating" usually has a great editorial, some quotes, a menu and a few other things to get the tailgating off to a great start on the weekend. Until we see something better, you are the King Josh.! See the "Heralding of Tailgating" PT

Michigan vs Michigan State

As stated in our myspace blog, we ran into some hostile territory in Michigan. Don't get me wrong, we met some fantastic people as you'll see below in the videos, but we haven't run across so many people that didn't want to talk or have a friendly picture EVER! Michigan is a beautiful state, I don't know why there were so many angry people. However, no one is going to rain on our parade. We met a fantastic set of neighbors. We were really on the hunt early for the Michigan State fans and we thought we had found a Michigan state army due to the flags and MSU decorations, but what we actually found was much better.... Neighboring families that loved different teams. One family staunchly in the Michigan State camp and another in the Michigan Camp. One family even dressed the other family's kids in Michigan apparel AND made full sized banners that were proudly displayed at the tailgate. Humiliation at it's best. We love it. Below is a video of the neighbors talking about their relationship and making some bold predictions

How they met and a victorious Michigan prediction

We also met another great group of people that had a great tailgate set-up complete with Jello shots and tons of enthusiasm. Our favorite part of their set up, was the Michigan State jersey that they had set-up on the side walk for people to "wipe" their feet on. As you can imagine, there were some hilarious exchanges.Check out our myspace page at (www.myspace.com/maximumtailgating) for more video, comments and tidbits.

Tailgating at Iowa

I'm recovering from a great weekend in Iowa. Lists always get you in trouble, but I have a feeling that the good people from Iowa would make anyone's top 5 for top tailgating schools. It wasn't just the amount of people. The spirit of everyone there was incredible. I lost count on how many people were singing the fight songs, the parking lot next to the stadium was packed, and everyone was friendly. The High Ten was a huge hit again, and for some reason people wanted our work shirts. Not to be outdone, there was a respectable gathering of Ohio State Fans. I mean, why not come out when your team is undefeated. The OSU fans were relentlessly heckled and booed all over the place, but in the end they had the last laugh I guess We still have some video to post, but please take a look at this video of another great hawkeye fan giving the history of his VW Rabbit.

Myspace, T.O., Tailgating at the Iowa vs. Ohio State Game

If you haven't seen it, we've launched our myspace page www.myspace.com/maximumtailgating . We are going to be doing some special offers, events, etc exclusively on myspace, so please be sure to sign on and add us as a friendI saw on the news this morning that Terrell Owens tried to commit suicide by overdosing on pain pills. I'm really having trouble grasping this. Specifically why, so I'm holding back any judgement/comments until the whole story is known. We are very excited about this weekends Iowa vs Ohio State game. I haven't been to Iowa in a year, and I'm excited to get back and feel the energy. Should be a great game, but it may be an even better tailgate.http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=91609731&blogID=172999263&MyToken=c1fedaf0-cf7b-4bc4-b074-c13f0f98c899

Tailgating at the University of Tennessee

The MaximumTailgating.com crew had a great time at the University of Tennessee. We really didn't think we were going to get a chance to tailgate due to the torrential rain in the area.

The actual UT vs. Marshall game was delayed a few times, but that didn't stop the tailgaters. We would definitely like to give a special thanks to Cameron, Katrina, The Francos and the rest of the 21st Century Mortgage crew for showing us a great time. One thing that we saw at UT that we haven't seen anywhere else so far was the "ATM Tailgate". UT Fans had actually set up their tailgate in a bank drive through. It provides perfect shelter and excellent photos. If we were forced to hand out a MaximumTailgating.com tailgater of the week award, it would probably go to these guys. They did keg stands in the parking lot, loved MaximumTailgating.com, and a few even drove from Memphis for the game. You guys are great! We hope to see you again.

Again, we had a great weekend and met some very enthusiastic people. Be sure to check out our Pictures of the Week section to get a good feel for the action

What happened to all of the preseason hype for those dolphins. They are getting stomped like grapes in a winery. It's still early, but Saban really needs to light a fire under those guys. Dante needs to really get his act together. At this rate there won't be any getting your "roll" on this year.-Tailgating Chick
