The Chatter About Larry Coker

Hurricane Until the Death. I love ESPN and South Beach. Sometimes I think cubicles were created by the football gods to make us savor the thrill of football and tailgating.

First off, I really like this site!

I’ve been a resident of Winter Park, Fl for about 20 years now and I’m a proud Miami Hurricane.  I have a decent life and a great immediate family.  The in-laws I could do without.  I “work” for a fairly high profile company and I regularly watch ESPN.

After my Canes’ mishap to that other school in North Florida, I’ve seen a great deal of anti Larry Coker trash on the media lately.  In fact, I’ve seen people blast both Coker and Bobby Bowden for being “unable to coach”.  These people must be kidding!  Let’s take a look at Coker’s accomplishments

·  Career Record: 53-10 (.841)

·  Bowl Record: 3-2

·  2001 National Championship

·  5-2 record vs. Florida State

·  3-0 record vs. University of Florida

·  2002 American Football Monthly magazine National Coach of the Year

·  2001 Bear Bryant Coach of the Year

·  2001 AFCA Coach of the Year (Shared with Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen)

·  Two-time Big East Conference Coach of the Year (2001, 2002)

·  Has produced 17 first-round NFL draft picks in four NFL drafts, including a record 6 in 2004

·  Has produced a total of 42 NFL draft picks during his tenure at Miami

Over the past week, I’ve honestly done about 7 hours of real work for my job ever since I discovered this site.  I’m not a genius, but these stats are incredible.  If I could somehow translate Coker’s achievements to something someone could do in my company it would be the equivalent of closing a 100 million dollar account or taking our share price to a new 52 week high all being a spokesperson for the save the seals foundation.

Superstar athletes will continue to come to Miami.  Miami will continue to be a super power.  This is a temporary setback and the Hurricanes will strike again.  Think not, look at what Joe Paterno did at Penn State last year after the whole world wrote him off in seasons before.
